Our hotel recommended Sadie's and were we glad! We sat at the bar and we had hardly sat down when out of nowhere a young man set chips and salsa in front of us! Warm chips. What do they do to them? They were so light and delicious!! Very spicy salsa that we could not stop eating! We had drinks served by a very genial bartender who even made a hot toddy for me as a special request. We asked him for a recommendation for our dinner as it was our first time there. He recommended anything with the Adovada, which we never heard of but took his word for it. Wow!! So delicious! We both ordered the enchiladas and I had enough for a second meal the next day!! Our kind bartender walked past us at one point and asked how our meal was! I sure wish I had his name so I could mention it. What a nice man! I would give this restaurant 5 stars except for the "greeting?" we received by the hostesses. We ate out at three different restaurants on our trip for dinner and in each case, the hostesses never smiled or acted in any way friendly. They looked like they were there against their will!! Is this a trend? Too bad. They are your first impression of an eatery. Foodwise, a 5, though! If we are ever in Albuquerque again, we'll make a beeline for Sadies!

Sadie's has the absolute best salsa in the world! It's fiery and yet so tasteful. I love the Roberto's special or a stuffed sopapilla with green chile on top! Or can you ever go wrong with chicken enchiladas? Their chicken is shredded breast and thigh meat- and it is divine. I am ready to go back! It's my favorite Mexican food- EVER!

Out of town from San Diego. Was craving "Mexican" food. I know its not the same necessarily. But this place was very good! Although different than Authentic Mexican food, the New Mexico cuisine was soo good we returned! (But unfortunately our second visit was at the other (franchise) location. It was good but didnt not have the same menu and taste) the franchise location I rate at 3 stars. Ok so at the original Sadies, I ordered Adovada topped w green chiles and it was huge and delicious!!! Tender chunk of pork topped w a green chile sauce. The chiles gave it a smokey taste and added some heat! At the franchise restaurant, this dish was no where near the same! The Queso was delicious and we needed more tortilla chips because we devoured it! The salsa was a nice surprise and was very good!!! Authentic! We had Churros and Churro Cheesecake for dessert! The churros came with whipped cream and a mexican chocolate sauce with chile! Soooooo good!!! Unfortunately the franchise did not offer this on their menu! Huge disappointment and after dinner we left the franchise and drove to this (Original) location to have churros!! I highly recommend this location over the franchise location. Better menu and CHURROS! Service was attentive and friendly! The place was packed and the noise level was moderate! Give the original Sadies a try for great food w large portions!

The salsa heat levels starts slightly higher than other spots, and the presentation is more diner style casual eats, but the food is decent and the service is great. I especially loved the Roberto's Special which is basically hamburger patty, chili con queso, onions, beans and potato but is such a good combo. The watermelon mocktail is a bit too sweet.

So glad Sadie's was recommended to us by our tour guide. We had the poutine appetizer which came out a little soupy for our liking. You should still be able to see fries beneath the topping. It had a good flavor though. The chicken quesadilla was really tasty but it was huge. The burrito with carne adavoda was really good but it also was huge. The service was prompt and friendly. We even explained Canadian poutine to her before we left. The sopapilla was a nice ending.

I loved this place so much that during a work trip, I dined here two days in a row! Having never visited New Mexico before, I was incredibly impressed with the authentic New Mexican cuisine. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the portion sizes are generous, so be prepared to share or take some food to go. You'll definitely leave with a full belly and a happy heart!

I must say, I have not been to Sadie's in a couple of years because I felt they got too "touristy" and the chile suffered for it being bland and not hot. That being said, I was in the area and decided to give them a shot. I ordered a stuffed sopapilla with red chile and no garnish. It came out pretty fast, The order was correct and it was nicely packaged in a foil pan with a plastic lid. Very sturdy. It was a generous portion size and smelled good the whole way home. I live in Rio Rancho so it was a pretty good drive and much to my surprise it was still nice and hot! I was also very pleasantly surprised at the flavor of the red chile! It was awesome! Had great flavor and heat. Wow! I most certainly be a returning customer! (I was so surprised I forgot to take a picture lol)

Wow. A local recommended we give Sadie's a shot to get a taste of authentic New Mexican food. We arrived around 8 and they were still bust but were seated after a short wait. Plenty of parking and it was needed as the lot was full The chips and salsa are amazing. The salsa is spicy but delicious. The plates we ordered were "smalls". Not sure who could eat a large as my 19 yo didn't clean his plate and it wasn't because the food was bad. Delicious but spicy which is expected. Great service as we had to have multiple glasses of water. Great old school sit down restaurant with retro paintings. Love it.
